McAleer & McGarrity were proud to deliver the full mechanical services package for this state-of-the-art mushroom growing and packing facility developed by Hughes Mushrooms, one of Tyrone’s leading agri-food producers. Located in Howden, Hull, this innovative project represents the first facility of its kind in the world, integrating mushroom cultivation, harvesting, and packaging operations seamlessly under one roof.
Our scope of work included the complete installation of mechanical and process systems, encompassing a fully equipped plantroom, gas and steam services, water systems, and all associated ventilation, heating, and sanitary installations. In addition, we provided complete mechanical services to two internal office facilities, ensuring a comfortable, energy-efficient working environment for staff.

This groundbreaking facility combines advanced environmental control technology with highly efficient production processes, setting new standards for sustainability and operational excellence within the food manufacturing sector.
